Portraits don’t always bring up the best images in my mind.
I think of people staring blankly, uncomfortable and families in matching patchwork sweaters on edge after standing in the mall waiting for a 5 minute forced union.
I had to break through.
I switched fashion models for everyday people, real families and challenged myself to show that no matter who you are, what you do, that we can reveal the flawless self found in you.
Philadelphia always brings me some sort of nostalgic, underground and energized feeling. When driving up to the city that weekend I was filled with excitement to work with new model Loring MaCall, right before he was headed out to move to NYC.
With a lot of natural light and the gritty urban dance studio of Iron Factory we made magic—and plenty of it.

Sometimes things take a little getting around to…
And then you realize it was absolutely amazing.

Where the river runs with model Alexis Clements.
Where the wandering water gushes
From the hills above Glen-Car,
In pools among the rushes
That scarce could bathe a star,
We seek for slumbering trout
And whispering in their ears
Give them unquiet dreams;
Leaning softly out
From ferns that drop their tears
Over the young streams
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.

Pink and Green! Contrasting, but very beautiful colors against model Oquana’s skin. I was able to work with her last Fall and revisit these photos as I prepare to shoot more Boudoir in the up coming weeks.
